Worker Bees

Monday this week brought eight members out to spar, sand, and tape. Good friends helped set up the dado so she was ready to rip and teams of two got staves milled for five masts, planed three gaffs and routed one boom.

Winter Worknight

All last week the sailing scourge had me by the tail. I was wishing for warmer water and those late afternoon sails where the breeze gentles the boat along.

Well, today made me think otherwize. Blowing 25-30 with horizontal rain and lots of it. Then just for good measure one of those sun peeps out and then, told you so - smack down - wind shift 180ยบ.

The Traditional guys got a ton of work done on surfacing spruce for spars and finishing up FISH STIX.

Jan TSCA

Ron Gibbs gave a wonderful talk on the boats of Venice. He ably translated the character and excitement of the races as well as the unique forms of the boats. His photos had great color. Photos by Ron Gibbs Nice work. I heard there was some excellent music on this trip also.

Next meeting is at the Seaport in the Workshop on the Water.
